2016 Science and Engineering Excellence Awards

Each year the Women in Science and Engineering Program at the University of Arizona honors campus and community leaders whose work exemplifies the mission and goals of WISE to increase interest and diversity in STEM fields.  The award winners are honored at the annual Science and Engineering Excellence Banquet, which will be held on April 28th, 2016, from 6-8pm.

Award Categories

Excellence in Campus Outreach for STEM Diversity: This award honors an individual, group, or organization who works on the UA campus to engage students and/or build connections between the university and larger southern Arizona community in the interest of promoting diversity in STEM.

University Excellence in STEM Diversity: This award honors a member of the University of Arizona community (e.g., faculty, staff, researcher) who has gone above and beyond in encouraging interest and diversity in STEM fields.

Excellence in K-12 STEM Education and Diversity: This award honors a K-12 educator who has actively worked to increase student interest and diversity in STEM fields.

Excellence in Community Outreach for STEM Diversity: This award honors an individual, group, or organization whose work aims to increase interest and diversity in STEM fields in southern Arizona.

Excellence in STEM Diversity: This award honors, individuals, groups, or organizations who do not easily fit into one of the above categories but whose work aims to increase interest and diversity in STEM fields.

To nominate someone for an award, please download and complete the award application below and email it to Jill Williams at JillMWilliams@email.arizona.edu with "SEE Banquet Award Nomination" in the subject line.  Nominations must be received no later than April 1, 2016.
