Support young women pursuing STEM careers
According to the 2009 U.S. Census, women constitute 50% of the general workforce, and only 25% of the STEM workforce. About half as many women pursue STEM careers as would be expected in other careers. That is why for over 40 years, WISE has been inspiring young girls ages K-12 to pursue careers in science, technology, mathematics and engineering. Every year, WISE students, faculty members, and corporate affiliates team up with local schools and educators to bring the STEM experience to schools all over Arizona. WISE also partners with the University of Arizona to support undergraduates by providing thousands of dollars in scholarships and several for-credit internships each year. WISE outreach offers a wide variety of hands-on engagement for elementary school to high school girls, including robotics clubs, 3-D printing workshops, agriculture experiments, and so much more!
These once-in-a-lifetime opportunities would not be possible without our valued donors. Donations directly fund interactive STEM conferences, mentorship programs, and outreach events.
